Is it ‘Happy New Year’ for Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra?

Mumbai: Well, this is something that might surprise one and all. Shah Rukh Khan, who had recently expressed his feelings for “special” friend Priyanka Chopra, now wishes to work with her in Farah Khan’s film ‘Happy New Year’.
Priyanka and Shah Rukh’s friendship hit the rocks early this year when the actress was accused of putting Mrs SRK’s (Shah Rukh’s wife Gauri) paradise in trouble, owing to her “friendship” with the superstar.

Talking to TOI, a source revealed, “Deepika, Katrina, Priyanka and Kareena were all in the reckoning.”

But since all the other actors are pre-occupied and have no dates left to sign a new film, Priyanka becomes the only option by default.

“With PeeCee trying hard to get a toe-hold in the Salman Khan camp, SRK tried his best to leverage his association with his ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ co-star Katrina (former ladylove of Salman Khan). But she stonewalled all his efforts,” added the source.

So will SRK take PC on board out of exasperation or does he really intend to work with the actress? Only time will tell.

Dev Patel says no to Farah Khan’s ‘Happy New Year’?

No Bollywood films for Dev Patel! The actor has said no to a big director.

Dev Patel is still remembered for his role in Slumdog Millionaire, after which none of his films could work wonders with the Indian audiences. Now, we hear that the Indian origin actor from Britain is also not interested in working in Bollywood. It’s heard that Dev apparently turned down director Farah Khan’s next.

As a tabloid reports, Freida Pinto’s boyfriend, had almost signed an Indian film on his recent trip to the country. But…

Dev Patel was reportedly offered Farah Khan’s Happy New Year -- a movie with an ensemble star cast that might also include Shahrukh Khan. However, the actor turned the director down, citing the reason that he is interested in doing offbeat movies and doesn’t want to be a part of Bollywood mainstream.

We get it! Like his girlfriend Freida Pinto, Dev Patel, too, is keen to do more Hollywood stuff. But a list of forgetful films can wreck one’s career.

Dev’s last film The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, which released in 2011, was a dud at Indian box office in spite of great reviews.

Farah Khan's 'Happy New Year' is about dance competition

The ace choreographer-filmmaker Farah Khan is impatient these days. Reason: she is to find her cast for her much talked and much delayed project 'Happy New Year'.

While Shah Rukh Khan and Boman Irani have been finalised the hunt is on for the leading lady. Talks are that the story of 'Happy New Year' is about five male friends who end up participating in a dance competition in spite of being no good in dancing. These men with the help of a bar dancer win the world dance championship.

Names of several A-list actresses have been making rounds for the female lead, among which were Sonakshi Sinha and Parineeti Chopra. Besides, speculations were rife that Farah might even rope in a face for the heroine's role.
However, the filmmaker apparently is surprised with all these rumours and in an interview she denied that she has not yet found the right girl for the film.

"There is a special requirement for the role of a bar dancer and for that I need a very good actress who can who can dance very well and look hot at the same time," quoted Farah who also added to say that she won't be casting any newcomer as a fresh girl wouldn't be suitable for the role.

It is said that the leading lady will also get to do some action scenes and so Farah is keen that she finds someone who is graceful and sporty at the same time.
